So tell us, are you ready to ditch swiping on the sofa and head over to a BODA event?

Bored of Dating Apps – or BODA, as it’s now being termed by their followers, is all about taking dating back a few decades, off screens and into the real world. Over the last eighteen months, Bored of Dating Apps have set up socials in cities across the country, welcoming singles to mingle and chat in a stress-free, inclusive environment. These events have spanned various activities, from drinks and live music to hikes and canvas painting. So, if you are sick and tired of trying to match online, take yourself to a BODA social to meet like-minded, friendly individuals who believe in that old-fashioned love.

Jess Evans, the creator of Bored of Dating Apps, developed her singles dating nights in response to the apathy towards swiping and hook-up culture we are seeing worldwide. Whilst at its invention ten years ago, online dating seemed like the sure fire way to find your soulmate, today it’s easy to get matches, but it’s never been harder to build a relationship. BODA has helped many singles find partners from their events, but it also has another mission. While BODA promotes bringing the fun and life back to dating, they also are on a mission to combat loneliness in cities, with mental health always remaining at the forefront of what they do.

According to a survey BODA undertook, they conducted with 12,000 single people…:

– 84% of people would now be open to being set up on a retro blind date

Bored of Dating Apps has proven that there is an undeniable longing for dating to return to what it used to be before apps and hook-up culture took off. The number of people attending BODA events is only growing, and with it, amazing stories of how individuals have found friends and romantic partners (their new longing for there to be BODA couples events so they can continue to come and join in the fun). In response to this statistic, BODA heard what people wanted and recently set up a blind dating service. Having already received many applications from singles looking for love, and we can’t wait to hear how they go!

– 91% of people would prefer to meet offline than online

So it turns out dating apps aren’t everyone’s idea of the perfect meet-cute! I’m sure if you yourself are single or if you have single friends, you’ve all discussed the trials and tribulations of online dating, from being ghosted to coming up with cheesy prompts to questioning whether all this work and effort you are putting in will pay off resulting in an incredible relationship or will it be another failed talking stage to add to the tally. Well, if this is you, you’re by no means alone. It turns out 91% of people would prefer to meet offline than online. In response to this, BODA has reinvented the dating wheel by taking it back in time. In society, as we see more and more things move online and as we become increasingly isolated, BODA has thrown dating back to the people reinstating the perfect environment to meet people with their lively socials for everyone to make friends and find love.

– 79% of people are more interested in finding a relationship than a casual hook-up

Stemming from the founder Jess Evans’ philosophy, Bored of Dating Apps sports the mantra of looking after your mental health meets dating. Their events are an inclusive environment, always brimming with positivity. From this, they have created an unmatched community of incredible singles looking for love. But I’m sure this statistic will bring comfort to those singles out there who are wondering if anyone still wants a relationship or if evenings spent questioning and wondering what ‘you are to each other’ is the only future. Have no fear; genuine love and connection are back, and it’s waiting for you at BODA.

At the end of every social Bored of Dating Apps gets feedback from those who attended to ask about their experience and get their feedback. These are just a couple of responses from past socials from individuals who have made friends, found love or have just left feeling better about themselves from interacting with others and joining the BODA community. From the reviews below you can see how BODA is changing peoples lives and taking dating culture back to the good old days.
